Knoxville city employees held their 6th annual Chili Cook Off today. A tight competition with veteran cooks resulted in a close ballot among contestants. This year’s winner of the coveted golden ladle is Fire Chief Mike Roberts with his Taco Chili, closely followed by Police Chief Dan Losada and Accounting Clerk/Deputy City Clerk LaTisha Embray who tied for second.

Losada says they had the best turn out that he could remember this year and a total of 35 ballots were cast. There were 10 different recipes entered this year from city employees representing all departments. Losada says this is something they enjoy doing each year and no person has won the contest more than once.

Roberts now joins the city chef winners circle along with past winners Jennifer Ethell, Dick Schrad, Kevin Rodgers, Billy DeJong and Dan Losada.
