With the cold winter temperatures furnaces in the area are getting a workout, and it’s important to make sure yours is running properly in order to prevent a potential disaster. Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts says even though most people look over their furnaces and clean out the filter regularly, there could be crack or two that has overlooked. He says this could result in exhaust problems or natural gas leakage that could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. Roberts recommends having furnaces inspected by a professional once a year.
