Every year thousands of people visit Iowa’s largest lake and while here in the area, Lake Red Rock visitors continue to positively impact our local economy.

According to studies conducted by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Lake Red Rock visitors spend more than $17 million per year within a 30 mile radius of the lake. The majority of money is spent on hotel and motel rooms, camping fees, restaurants and bars, groceries and fuel, among others. The Marion County Development Commission estimates that the total amount spent is closer to approximately $30 million.

With recent improvements to areas such as North Overlook Beach and the Hickory Ridge Wilderness Camp, these figures are expected to continue to increase.
