Funeral Services for Layne Kono, age 76, of Chariton, will be held at 10:30AM Saturday at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends before the service beginning at 9:30AM. Memorials can be directed to the Chariton High School Music Department.

Layne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Senna of Chariton; daughters: Karen (Keith) Halfpop of Branson, and Darcy (Tom) Dubuc of Ankeny; 4 grandchildren: Matt Overland, Nate Overland, Audrey Major, and Kalina Dubuc; brother, Wayne (Kay) Kono of Newton; sister-in-law, Pamela (Richard) Meyers of Vermont; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
