Thousands of MidAmerican Energy customers in Marion County were without power after an outage overnight that occurred around 10pm Tuesday. At its peak, the outage affected more than 2,200 households and businesses, equal to nearly one forth of all customers in Marion County. MidAmerican Energy officials tell KNIA/KRLS news the outage occurred at a transfer station after an owl flew into power lines near the Douglas and Jasper intersection in Pleasantville causing a transformer to malfunction. All power was restored by 6:05am.
