The Pella boys basketball team maintained its hold on the conference lead, with a crucial 81-71 win last night at Grinnell. The Tigers had the hot hand to start the game, jumping out to a 13-point lead in the first half, before the Little Dutch stormed back to cut the deficit to just 35-34 at halftime. Pella continued to gain ground in the second half before closing the door on Grinnell for the 10-point win.
Nick Dorman led the Little Dutch offensively with 22 points, while Kyle Newendorp scored 15 points and Lucas Boyd chipped in 10. The Pella boys are now 10-2 overall and 8-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference entering tonight’s contest against Oskaloosa.
