Pella Christian added to an already successful week with a win over Knoxville last night 51-to-38. The Eagles improve to 3-0 this week with the win. The boys got off to a quick start with an 8-0 run, but Knoxville came roaring back with a 7-0 run of its own. It was back-and-forth the rest of the half, and the Eagles took a four point lead into the locker room. Pella Christian came out very strong in the third quarter, and turned a four point halftime lead into a 14 point advantage going in to the fourth quarter. That was enough to propel the Eagles to their third win this week. This game was very different from the first time these two teams met, when Pella Christian won easily by 25. Pella Christian was coming off two games in three days, including an overtime thriller Thursday night. Coach Hessing commented after the game he thought they were a little sluggish to start of. Chase Carlson lead the team with 17 points, Alex Branderhorst had 15 points, all of which came from beyond the arc. Knoxville Coach Clint Driftmier said his zone defense kept the Eagles out of sink in the first half. Lance Daugherty and Erik Ryan led Knoxville in scoring with eight points. The Panthers are now 3-10 on the season and 1-7 in conference play.
