The Pella Christian boys’ hard work during the holiday break paid off Tuesday night, as they were all over the South Tama Trojans from the start.

Pella Christian started the game on an 11-0 run, and never looked back. They excelled at every aspect, en route to a 73-28 drubbing on the Trojans in South Tama.

The Eagles clearly over-matched South Tama from the get go, but it wasn’t the final score that got head coach Larry Hessing’s attention. He explained after the game he was proud of the fact the boys played as a team; they communicated with each other and didn’t hesitate to make the extra pass or get on the floor for a loose ball.

Chase Carlson had a game-high 18 points, while Sam Tvedt chipped in 14.

The Eagles improved to 5-2 on the year, and ran their conference record to 2-1. Their next game is at Newton on Friday.
