Pella Christian girls earned a big win Tuesday night. In the process, they pull even with Norwalk in the Little Hawkeye conference. Both teams are now 4-2.

Early on, it was evident the Lady Eagles would not have a hangover from Friday’s tough home loss to Pella. They moved the ball well and the defensive effort was strong; two things head coach Kevin Van Maanen said would be key before the game.

Pella Christian held Norwalk to just 10 first quarter points, and took a 27-22 lead into the locker room.

The game remained close in the second half put the Lady Eagles never let their guard down, en route to a 51-47 victory.

Jasmin Schelhaas and Paige Zylstra had a game-highs with 14 points-a-piece. Tayler Stursma added 9.

With the win, Pella Christian moves to 7-3 overall, and 4-2 in conference play. Norwalk falls to 6-6 on the year, and 4-2 in conference play. The two teams now share the #3 spot in the conference.

The Lady Eagles get one day to practice before hosting Oskaloosa, a game that was postponed on January 11th and rescheduled for Thursday night.
