The Pella Christian girls suffered their first conference loss of the year Tuesday night. They traveled to South Tama knowing they would have their hands full with the Trojans, who were, and remain undefeated in Little Hawkeye Conference play (4-0).

Pella Christian started the game well, going ahead 11-4, but after that South Tama seemed to “wake up” as they held the Eagles scoreless for the remaining 3 minutes and change in the first quarter. The Eagles did a good job keeping this game close, even though they had a hard time finding their stroke on the offensive end. Every time Pella Christian got close, though, South Tama would pull away. At the end, the Trojans proved to be too much for the Eagles to handle, on this night.

Cali Vink led the way for the Eagles with 13 points, including 3 three-pointers. Shelby Weaver added 11 for Pella Christian.

Madison Baier tied her teammate Kaleigh Sieck with a game high 16 points each and South Tama saw their conference record improve to 4-0.

Pella Christian will hot the hardwood again on Friday, at Newton. They stand at 4-2 on the year, with a 2-1 conference mark.
