The Pella girls basketball team earned its second win in as many days, as they defeated Fairfield 66-43 Saturday afternoon in Pella. After a hard-fought victory on Friday night over Norwalk, the Lady Dutch started the non-conference game a bit slow; as the first quarter ended in a 13-13 tie. Pella exploded with a big second quarter, though, and used their suffocating defense to maintain their lead the rest of the game.
Senior forwards Mackenzie Anthony and Kelsey Fynaardt posted big games in the paint for the Lady Dutch, with 16 and 12 points respectively. The Pella girls are now 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference entering a very busy stretch on the schedule this coming week.
