The Pella Rural Fire Department responded to an early morning fire at 2005 Highway 163 West of Pella Wednesday morning. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom tells KNIA/KRLS News the residents had extinguished the small chimney fire when crews arrived shortly after 6 am. Van Gorkom says this should serve as a reminder to people to make sure their fireplaces and chimneys are clean and free of debris.
