A report is soon to be released outlining possible changes that can be made to County Highway T-15 between Pella and Knoxville. County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum says the road safety assessment is being conducted by the Federal Highway Authority, the Deparment of Transportation and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau and the Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University are looking at how well roads are working in an effort to lower the number of accidents. He says that locally, there are points of concern at the intersection of highways S-71 and T-15, known as Chrisman’s Corner, and the intersection of highways G-46 and T-15, known as Metcalf Corner. The study will look at things like signage, speed limits and points of access. The report is expected to be released at the end of the month.
