For several months contractors were working on the marina at Lake Red Rock but recently work has come to a halt. Assistant Operations Manager of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers John Holt tells KNIA/KRLS News that the contractor is done excavating the marina and the bike trail has opened up along Highway G-28. According to Holt, the next step is to place soil from the basin on top of the hill where the marina will be, to give the boats shelter from wind and waves. Because the soil is frozen, the remainder of the project will be completed in the spring.
