Central Women Mount Comeback, But Fall Short

Central women found themselves in a 13-point hole Thursday night against the Spartans when they put together a late run. The Dutch grabbed a one-point lead late in the game, before Dubuque held Central scoreless for the final two-and-a-half minutes.
AJ Baker had 23 points and six rebounds. Junior Haley Brillhart added 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Central’s record drops to 4-17 and 1-11 in conference action.
Central faces Luther College in a women’s-men’s doubleheader Saturday at P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium. The women will tip off at 2 p.m. and the men will began at approximately 4 p.m. Luther is 5-16 overall with a 1-11 league mark. The Norse defeated the Dutch 64-46 earlier this season.
