While preparing to play Oskaloosa, Knoxville’s Gretchen Hileman made some time yesterday to think about softball. Hileman announced she would play on the college level at Muscatine Community College in 2012. Hileman said Muscatine’s overall success and the campus were key factors in her decision. Muscatine Coach Scott Beatty says Hileman’s leadership was one of the main reasons he recruited her. Hileman has played outfield and catcher during her career at Knoxville. Last season she spent most of the season on the injured list. Beatty adds that goes to show how good of an athlete Hileman is to spend nearly the entire season injured and still be recruited by one of the top junior college softball programs in the Midwest. Hileman says being injured last year has given her motivation to have a great season this summer.
