Girls basketball postseason continues tonight with Class 3A getting underway. Knoxville travels to rival Pella less than a week after the Panthers took the Lady Dutch to double overtime on Friday night. While the final score will show a Knoxville loss, Coach Jim Utiermarkt said his team made a major improvement against Pella in rebounding on Friday. Utiermarkt adds the girls now have a confidence infused in them that they did not have before last Friday. He ads they will need once again to have someone step up in the possible absence of Hannah Rosenkrantz who suffered a sprained ankle during practice last week and is listed as doubtful for tonight’s game. Last Friday Gretchen Hileman scored 23 points and many several key shots to either tie the game or keep the game within reach. Twice this season, the Lady Dutch have beaten Knoxville. They will meet one last time this season at Pella High, the winner to advance against either Carlisle of Chariton. The Lady Dutch have won 11 out of 12 games entering the match-up. You can hear this game live on 92.1 KRLS for the Pella perspective, Eric Grillaert and Randy Sikkema will provide the call. Or, you can hear the Knoxville perspective on AM 1320 KNIA and streamed live at kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and Mike Cunningham the Second tonight staring with the pre game show at 6:45.
