One program that is making strides at Knoxville is the wrestling program. The Panthers for the first time since Eric Whitcome took over as coach got double figures in dual wins with 11. Knoxville also had two wrestlers make the victor podium last week at the state meet. Whitcome says people are starting to realize that Knoxville Wrestling is on its way back to prominence not only on the state level, but locally as well. He says while the outcome of the Norwalk dual this season was not in Knoxville’s favor, he says the fans support that night was incredible. The gym was around 75% full and the fans were into the match the whole time. He says now the next step is to not just compete but beat the team like Norwalk next season.
