Marion County residents will have an opportunity to extend a Local Option Sales and Services Tax next Tuesday. Pella Mayor Darrel Dobernecker says the funds generated from the tax in the past have gone for a variety of local projects, most notably the Pella Aquatic Center. He says by extending the one cent tax, Pella and other communities in the county will be able to more easily facilitate the completion of other, new projects, such as completing the burial of electrical lines in Pella. The funds will also be used for property tax relief. The polls open at 7am, Tuesday March 1st.
