Marion County was one of few rural counties to see population growth in the last decade. Chairman of the Marion County Board of Supervisors Sam Nichols says it’s encouraging to see steady, positive growth in the area, as more people means more money spent in the area, and increased support for area schools and businesses. Supervisor Craig Agan says he’s happy to see more people move to Marion County, and adds that we’re fortunate to be seeing growth. The population grew nearly 4 percent since 2000, to a total of 33,309 residents.
