After a brief pause from winter, another winter storm moved through the area last night. The Pella/Knoxville area received 6 inches of snow in a system that moved in yesterday afternoon. South Attica Road in Knoxville was closed for nearly two hours yesterday evening due to multiple vehicles off of the roadway, and accidents. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Reports that area roadways are 75-100% snow covered and may be slick. State, County and City plows are in operation. County plows and maintainers are working on both paved and gravel roads. The Marion County Secondary Roads department reports that snowfall amounts increase as one travels further south in the county. The Knoxville and Pella snow ordinances are in effect and the secondary roads department believes that all area gravel roads will be passable by the end of the day. The snowfall should be done for the morning, but some snow is forecast later this afternoon. KNIA/KRLS weather center will continue to bring you the latest severe weather information.
