The Knoxville Raceway has changed the rules for this year’s Masters Classic race to return the event back to its roots. Director of Racing, Ralph Capitani said last year 410 racers such as Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski and Sammy Swindell were encouraged to participate in the event and in hindsight they realized that was not the best decision.

As a result an additional rule will be added to this year’s race that attracts drivers age 50 and older. To be eligible, drivers must certify that they have not competed in more than 10 winged 410 sprint car feature races in the last two years. Capitani says this is a 360 invitational for retired sprint car drivers and active racers that are age 50 and older, period.

The Masters Classic will be held during the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame induction weekend on Friday June 2nd.
