Central College’s Annual Stringfest is happening this week. The event will feature high school students from around the state, including several from Pella High School. Catherine Bendon, Orchestra Director for Pella Community Schools says the all day affair is a good opportunity for young players to learn new techniques and practice and perform with other players from different backgrounds. She says the concert will feature more traditional classic pieces, as well as some more popular tunes, which the kids tend to enjoy a little more. Stringfest begins at 6:30 pm, Friday February 25th at the Douwstra Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
