Students at Pleasantville High School are collecting school supplies to help students in Afghanistan. High School Social Studies teacher Dennis Oliver tells KNIA/KRLS news the idea for the collection came from a former student, Chris Koenig, who is now a member of the U.S. Army’s 133 Infantry of the Bravo Company. Items such as pens, pencils, notebooks, crayons, coloring books and folders donated for the cause will be shipped directly to students in Afghanistan. Oliver says it’s their goal to help the Army and be of service on a global scale.

School supplies or monetary donations can be dropped off at the Pleasantville High School until Thursday.
