Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news the Westridge area of Knoxville is currently without power due to a motor vehicle accident. Chief Losada says there is currently a vehicle parked on a power transformer near the 2500 block of Larson Street.

MidAmerican Energy crews are on the scene and have turned off power to the area. Losada says they are in the process of removing the vehicle from the transformer and will turn electricity back on as soon as it is safe to do so.

No injuries have been reported in the accident at this time.

MidAmerican Energy reports there were approximately 54 customers without power during the outage. All power was restored by approximately 9:45am.
