The state legislature is currently entertaining proposals about school dress codes. Pella High School Principal Eric Nelson says he has not experienced a problem with objectionable dress with his students and does not think a strict dress code is necessary. Knoxville High School Principal Kevin Crawford says they seldom have problems with dress code issues and adds that the biggest concern is students dressing in a manner that may be fashionable, but not necessarily appropriate for a school setting. He says if a student does not want to follow the guidelines already in place, they will be asked to leave the building.
