Though there is snow on the ground and daily high temperatures are still hovering around the freezing point, believe it or not spring is right around the corner and camping season will be here before too long. Campers can now book their sites from the comfort of their home or work online through the new Department of Natural Resources website.

The website includes a variety of information for all state parks, including Elk Rock State Park on Lake Red Rock. Visitors can view a map of the area, the amenities, photos and prices. Reservations for Memorial Day weekend, the start of camping season for many, began Sunday and Sherry Arntzen with the DNR’s state parks bureau says choice camping spots, particularly those with electricity, go quickly.
