After the first round of interviews with potential City Manager candidates was unable to secure a satisfactory employment agreement with a selected candidate the Knoxville City Council and Richard Fursman of Brimeyer-Fursman LLC continues to work toward finding a replacement.

As previously reported by KNIA/KRLS news the council asked Fursman to return to the original pool of 82 applicants and present them with additional suitable candidates. Those who Fursman selects, based on the council’s new concentration of wanting someone with significant economic development experience, will be presented to the council on March 2nd. Another set of interviews by the Council and City department heads is tentatively scheduled for March 25th and 26th.

As per the original agreement with Brimeyer-Fursman, the City will not incur any additional consulting fees or expenses. They will however be responsible for interview costs for the visiting candidates.
