With warmer temperatures forecasted in the 30s and 40s through next week much of the snow that currently covers Marion County will likely melt, but will that cause potential flooding in the area? Jacob Beitlich with the National Weather Service tells KNIA/KRLS news he does not expect short term flooding with this warm up as overnight temperatures will remain below freezing and there is no precipitation in the forecast. Long term, Beitlich says there is a greater than normal chance of flooding due to the amount of snow pack but the risk of flooding depends greatly on the amount of precipitation we receive this spring.
