Central College’s Ethan Miller and associate head coach Guy Mosher have each received regional honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

For the third straight season, the Central junior has been named the Division III Central Region Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, while his coach was also named the region’s Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the third time in a row.  The pair took the same honors in the 2010 indoor and outdoor seasons.

Entering this weekend’s National Indoor Championships, Miller is ranked number one in the nation in the long jump (24′-1.75″) and pentathlon (3,876 points), and is tied as the ninth seed in the high jump (6′-8.75″).

Mosher is a nationally-recognized combined events coach and is in his 20th season at Central. Multi-sport athletes under his guidance have captured all-America honors over 190 times in 12 different events, including 15 national champions.  The Dutch have three combined-event athletes qualified for the upcoming national meet, as Kurtis Brondyke will join Miller on the men’s side, along with Jill Ziskovsky for the women.

The Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Capital University in Colubus, Ohio.
