The men’s and women’s indoor track and field squads from Central College each qualified two more events for the NCAA Division III Championships at Saturday’s last chance qualifier at Iowa State University.

The Central women’s 4×400-meter relay team highlighted the day for the Dutch, with another record-breaking performance.  The team of Jill Ziskovsky, Emily Teas, Rachel Purdy and Felicia Coleman had already likely secured a spot in the D-III Championships with their school-record time of 3:55.46, but crossed the line in a converted time of 3:52.45 on Saturday; crushing their existing record and moving up to fourth in the Division III rankings.  Teammate Morgan Darrow also broke her own school record in the weight throw, with a toss of 52 feet, 4.5 inches to qualify for the championships as well.

On the men’s side, Kyle Wood and Ben Schornack each ran personal bests in the 400 meters to earn qualifying times for the D-III meet.  In addition to the women’s 4×400-meter relay team, Central’s only other automatic qualifiers are Ethan Miller and Kurtis Brondyke.

The Dutch will compete on March 11th and 12th at the NCAA Division III Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
