Macalaster College quieted the Dutch offense Monday. They limited the Central College baseball team to four hits as the Dutch suffered a 9-1 setback in their first spring break loss in Arizona.
The Scots were on the board early, notching a run in the first inning before adding two more in the fifth. Macalester posted a five-run sixth inning and added another tally in the eighth. Central was unable to make a dent in Macalester’s lead, scoring just one run in the eighth inning.
The loss snaps a five-game win streak for the Dutch (6-2).
Central is off today but returns to action Wednesday, meeting William Paterson at 12:30 p.m. The Pioneers are 1-4-1 going into a matchup Tuesday against Concordia Univ.
