A Des Moines man who faces a first degree murder charge for the death of a Knoxville woman has been extradited to Marion County.

Terry Tobias Cobbins Jr. was arrested in Milwaukee County Wisconsin on January 10th, three days after Teresa Louise Miller was shot and killed in her home south of Knoxville. According to court documents Teresa’s husband Michael Miller allegedly paid Cobbins, a co-worker of his, to kill his wife after he wanted to leave her to be with another woman he was having an affair with but feared if they got divorced Teresa would get to keep all of their money.

According to Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat, they were notified Tuesday that the extradition had been approved and Cobbins was picked up from the Milwaukee County jail yesterday and brought to Marion County.

Cobbins had an initial appearance in front of judge Terry Wilson this morning. He is currently being held in the Marion County Jail on a $1.5 million bond and a preliminary hearing has been set for March 25th at 9:30am in the Marion County Courthouse.
