Iowa hunters harvested approximately 150,000 deer over the past hunting season. This number represents a 7% decline over the previous year. Marion County Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon says herd numbers statewide have been down over the last couple years. He says tag sales are also down by about 11,000, both of which are contributing factors to the past year’s lower numbers.
