Extension Office to Offer Composting Machines and Tips

The Marion County Extension Office and the Marion County Master Gardeners is offering resident an opportunity to reduce waste and improve the quality of their soil at a large discount next month. During their free spring workshop on composting April 2nd there will be 100 composting machines for sale at cost on a first come first serve basis.

Master Gardener Coordinator Karen Ackley says the composters typically cost $150 and will be on sale during the workshop for around $40. In addition to this opportunity there will also be a panel of experts on hand to discuss the purpose of composting, how it works and its many benefits.

The event will take place from 10:30 until noon Saturday April 2nd at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
