High jump is one of the field events that Pleasantville Boys Track and Field Coach Tim Koerselman hopes can be a state contender this season. Hunter Van Haalen placed 15th in class 2A with a jump of six feet. Koerselman says his best height was 6/3 last year. He hopes to get to 6/5 or even 6/6 this season. Koerselman if that happens, Van Haalen would have a chance of not just getting to state but also be in contention for the podium. This year Pleasantville will run in class 1A something that Koerselman says should help his team get more events to state and possibly win a few more state championships.
