Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven says he found it difficult to argue with the proposal that passed the House concerning driver education. He says one of the main points of the debate was the issue of qualification of parents compared to teachers or private instructors. Van Engelenhoven says the reports he saw supporting the measure to allow parents to teach their children driver education concluded that home schooled drivers tend to have lower instances of accidents and violations, lending support to the proposal.
