Another Marion County school has been recognized by the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service for having healthy choices and education available to their students. The Melcher-Dallas Elementary School and High Schools have earned the bronze award in the Team Nutrition Healthier U.S. School Challenge. The voluntary program recognizes schools that create healthier school environments by providing nutrition education, nutritious food and beverage choices, physical education and opportunities for physical activity. In addition to the award status the schools will also receive a plaque, banner and $500 monetary incentives.
