The Pella Chamber of Commerce met with Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley Tuesday. The Chamber was in Washington to share concerns with national leaders about the state of business, and what can be done to help foster growth in the private sector. KNIA/KRLS News spoke with Senator Grassley after the meeting. He says his greatest concern for the growth of local businesses is the issue of health care. He says businesses can’t properly budget their costs without knowing the final impact of the bill, which was recently repealed in the House, but not the Senate. Grassley also expressed concern with small manufacturing industries being forced to deal with Environmental Protection Agency designed for larger companies. He says he would like for the model used to promote manufacturing in Marion County to be copied in other parts of the nation.
