A portion of Madison Street in Knoxville will be closed beginning this week. According to Knoxville Public Works Director Jeff May, Madison Street at Dayton Street will be closed beginning Wednesday to allow the West Area Relief Sewer Project contractor to correct issues with a storm sewer intake and paving at that location. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks and the intersection will be reopened before the contractor proceeds with the remaining work on the project.
