The first of the spring turkey hunting seasons is coming up.
Four seasons will run from Monday, April 11th through May 15th, with a resident’s-only youth season from April 8th through the 10th.
Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz says turkeys are plentiful in the area, and the hunting season is something people look forward to as another sign that winter is nearly over. Shooting hours for guns and bows are a half hour before sunrise until sunset and paid wild turkey licenses will run $24.50.
