Joel Pulliam pitched eight strong innings and the offense showed significant signs of improvement Wednesday afternoon, as the Central College baseball team rocked Simpson College 12-3 in Pella. The Central offense pounded out ten hits en route to avenging a pair of losses to the Storm a week ago.
Pulliam, meanwhile, was steady on the hill, scattering seven hits and striking out seven while walking none to improve his record to 3-2. Dirk Lindaman struck out two batters in the ninth to record the save.
After going up 2-0 in the third inning, the Dutch found themselves trailing when Simpson put up three runs in the fifth inning; but responded with a six-run sixth inning to put the game away.
Central is now 14-10 overall and 4-5 in the Iowa Conference, with a three-game series against Dubuque beginning on Friday at the Kuyper Athletics Complex in Pella.
