Behind a pair of powerful pitching performances, the Central College baseball team rebounded from a disappointing one-run loss on Saturday to take a pair of games from the University of Dubuque –  2-1 and 6-2 – on Sunday.
Junior Joel Pulliam tossed a two-hit complete game in the opener; striking out eight and walking three to notch his seventh game of the season with six or more strikeouts.  Dirk Lindaman was equally impressive in the second game, as hit allowed just two hits before Michael Jontz came in to close out the win in the seventh inning.
Central’s pitching got plenty of support at the plate as well, as the Dutch offense smacked 16 hits off of Dubuque’s pitchers, including four doubles.  Central improves to 16-11 overall with a 6-6 league mark and will travel to Cedar Rapids this weekend to face Coe College in a three-game set.
