Led by right fielder Jarred Lackey, the Central College baseball team finally got the offensive outburst they’d been looking for, as the Dutch out-slugged Coe College 13-7 on Monday.  Lackey ripped the Kohawks for five RBIs on two of Central’s fifteen hits; which came after the team had only been able to muster two runs in a doubleheader split on Saturday.
Second baseman Adam Ariola added two RBIs on a pair of run-scoring singles, and was one of seven Central players with two hits.  The Dutch also took advantage of four errors by the Kohawks.
Dirk Lindaman earned the win on the mound for Central, scattering nine hits for five runs in just over five innings of work; with D.J. Glasgow coming in for the final three innings to pick up the save.
The Dutch are now 18-12 overall and 8-7 in the Iowa Conference; and are back on the road Wednesday afternoon as they travel to Storm Lake for a nine-inning game against Buena Vista University.
