County Party leaders have weigned in on the new congressional maps.

County Democrat Chair Anita Martin says she thinks the new plan is fair, but is awaiting a final signature from the Governor’s office before any major plans are made.

Irene Blom, Chair of the Marion County Republicans says she’s a bit disappointed in the new map, as dividing the county in such a way will make campaigning more difficult. The Governor has three weeks to accept or reject the proposal.
