A Knoxville man who faces several counts of sexual abuse has waived his preliminary hearing. After filing a motion of continuance, 20 year-old Jamie Lee DeHeer waived the preliminary hearing that was scheduled to take place Friday morning. A special defense unit public defender has been appointed at state expense and some of the case records, including the no contact order has been sealed. A motion for bond reduction has been filed and a review hearing will take place on May 5th. DeHeer was arrested April 19th for 11 counts of 2nd degree sexual abuse for incidents that occurred between 2005 and 2008 with an underage female.
