Playing in near monsoon conditions for most of the game, Knoxville took advantage of its opportunities and scored a 4-1 victory over Pella Christian in boys soccer last night. The Panthers opened the scoring less than four minutes into the match with a goal by C-J Wright. Dylan Schrader would notch two more goals in the first half to help Knoxville jump out to a 3-0 halftime lead. Panthers Coach Jon Smith said his team could not do exactly what it wanted due to the conditions, but he was happy to get the win. Pella Christian Coach Josh Visser while disappointed with the loss said his team played well. Dan Hessing got the lone goal for the Eagles. Knoxville is now 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference play while Pella Christian is now 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.
