Earlier this month, twelve Marion County Special Olympics athletes participated in the 2011 Spring Games at Simpson College. Overall, the local athletes received eight first place ribbons, six second place finishings, five third place honors and several other respectable placings. The first place athletes along with two Marion County bocce ball teams will now move on to the State Summer Games at Iowa State University in Ames May 26th and 27th.
