As previously reported by KNIA/KRLS news the Legislative Services Agency released their first proposal for redistricting of the state. Senate Republican Leader Paul McKinley says he feels Iowa has the fairest system in the country with the non-partisan agency drawing the boundaries and supports the redistricting process.
Though under the proposed plan McKinley would lose a very conservative area of the county, he says it’s not necessarily about the numbers as much as it about having strong candidates. He says all Iowans need good solid, principled candidates that will work hard to represent their districts and that’s what determines the winner of the races.
