Outflow has been reduced at Lake Red Rock as floodwaters rise in the lower Mississippi River Basin. John Holt of the US Army Corps of Engineers says the reduction is intended to control flooding where the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers meet. Currently, the outflow at Red Rock has been limited to 10,000 cubic feet per second, leaving the lake at a level of 758 feet. Holt says conditions down river will determine the duration of the outflow reduction.
